It seems that the peplum exists since Ancient Greece, it was also worn in the Victorian Era, it was reinvented by Christian Dior in the 50’s and now is on trend again.
What exactly is the peplum?
Well is kind of a ruffle attached to a blouse, a skirt, a blazer, a dress or even a pair of pants but it can also be a detachable piece (a semi-skirt) that you can wear over your clothes.
Besides being very feminine and cute it also emphasizes the waist and adds a little volume to the hips so it creates that pretty hourglass figure, a perfect piece for girls like me who have a rectangular body shape.
I wouldn’t recommend it for the girls with larger hips because it will make them look even larger.
